It's still January, so we're only a little bit behind on our New Year's Resolutions. Everybody's working on different ways to live more lightly on the earth, create community and foster good relationships. I don't know about you, but I'm easily overwhelmed by lengthy "To Do" lists, so I decided to start with five things and work from there.
Without further ado, here are my goals for 2008:
1. Use public transportation two MORE times a week than I did last year
2. Walk one errand every day (instead of driving)
3. Eat fewer prepared foods (reduces packaging, which in turn will reduce the amount of STUFF in my garbage & recycle)
4. Continue to increase my use of the public library (instead of buying books)
5. Make plans each week to spend time with a friend
Not very dramatic. But important to me. How about you? We'd love to hear your Top Five for 2008!

This is a great list, Kathy. I'm with you on #4; I'm really bad about buying books instead of getting them from the library. The "one click" purchasing on Amazon beckons me on these long rainy nights. :) But I will resolve to do better! Also, I plan to remember to bring my own bags with me to grocery shop. I have several and I'm diligent about taking them if I'm walking to QFC but whenever I drive to PCC (which is necessary because of the sucky bus trip otherwise involved), I always forget them, and then I shrink a few inches as the check-out help asks, "did you bring your own bags?"
Oh yes... the cloth bag thing. We're usually really good about it for a few weeks, and then all the bags have migrated into the house and have been scattered far and wide, and somehow we end up at the store without one.
I'm adding this to my list. Which means I have a Top Six now!
